Carnival of Fano
Fano Carnival, with its long history since 1347, is the oldest and one of the most famous carnivals in Italy.
Not many people know that Fano Carnival began in medieval times, on the occasion of the reconciliation between two respectable families of the time, the Del Casseros and the Da Carignanos.
Fano Carnival attracts every year more than one hundred of thousands of spectators for the great parades of big floats in papier-maché and the hundreds of kilos of sweets, caramels and chocolates launched from floats.
For this reason Fano Carnival is the world's 'sweetest' carnival: nice to see, sweet to taste!
